Wyra – Keth Bachao Abhiyan Awareness programme

A “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” (Save the Farm Campaign) programme was conducted by KVK, Wyra on 29.10.2026 at Annarugudem Village, Thallada Mandal to create awareness among farmers about soil and water conservation, climate-resilient agriculture, and sustainable farming practices in view of the prevailing El Niño conditions.

Dr. T. Pavani, Senior Scientist & Head (i/c) and Smt. PSM. Phanisri, SMS (Extension) highlighted the importance of natural farming practices, Balanced use of fertilizers, Improved rabi crop varieties and quality seed selection, Seed treatment, Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and effective crop residue management to improve soil health, Reduce cultivation costs and Enhance crop resilience under adverse climatic conditions.

The programme aimed to encourage farmers to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices, conserve natural resources, and prepare for the challenges associated with El Niño conditions during the rabi season. The programme was attended by Sri. Karunakar Reddy, MRO, Thallada, Sri. G. Prabhakar, Sarpanch, Annarugudem, Sri. K. Venkateshawarlu, Vice-Sarpanch, Annarugudem and Farmers and Farmwomen.
