TRVK, Siddipet conducted Awareness Programme on Seed Production for Primary Cooperative Society Members and Farmers at Ramancha (V), Chinnakodur (M) on 02.07.2026. As part of this programme, three cooperative societies in Siddipet district Husnabad, Jagadevpur, and Gangapur have been selected. In this connection, an awareness programme was organized for the members of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society Gangapur and local farmers under the aegis of Telangana Rythu Vignana Kendram (TRVK), Siddipet. Smt. Varalakshmi, District Cooperative Officer, explained about the use of quality foundation seed can enhance paddy yields by 10–15 percent. She observed that nearly 90–95 percent of the paddy seed market in Telangana is dominated by private companies, resulting in higher seed costs for farmers. To reduce farmers’ dependence on private seed suppliers and make quality seed available at affordable prices, she encouraged farmers to actively participate in seed production. Later, Smt. Swaroopa Rani, District Agricultural Officer, Siddipet expressed her happiness that Siddipet district had been selected under this pilot project. She urged farmers to make the best use of the programme by producing quality seed and supplying it to fellow farmers in the district. Later, Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar, Scientist and Head, ARS, Tornala informed the participants that scientists regularly monitor the seed production fields and provide technical guidance and timely advisories to ensure the production of high-quality seed. Later, Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist, TRVK, Siddipet explained that under this project, Breeder Seed of the fine-grain paddy variety KNM-1638 will be supplied to five farmers covering five acres under each selected cooperative society. The variety has a duration of 120–125 days and is tolerant to leaf folder and blast disease. She further explained that the cooperative societies will process the procured produce into Foundation Seed, certify it with the Foundation Seed tag, and supply quality seed to farmers across the district. In this programme Agricultural Extension Officer- Shiva, Gangapur, representatives from the bank, members of the cooperative society and 20 farmers were participated.
