KVK, Palem organized a Training-cum-Success Celebration on the Adoption of High Density Planting System (HDPS) in Cotton Cultivation under the Special Project on Cotton at KVK, Palem on 14.08.2026. The dignitaries emphasized the importance of large-scale adoption of HDPS cotton, scientific crop management, appropriate plant population, timely pest and disease management, and efficient utilization of inputs for improving cotton productivity and profitability. They appreciated the efforts of KVK, Palem in promoting and facilitating the adoption of HDPS technology among farmers in the district. During the programme, farmers shared their feedback, experiences, and benefits from adopting HDPS cotton cultivation. They highlighted the remarkable horizontal spread of the technology over the past three years, with an increasing number of farmers adopting HDPS practices based on the successful experiences of fellow farmers. The programme provided a valuable platform for farmer-to-farmer knowledge sharing and interaction, further strengthening the dissemination and horizontal spread of HDPS cotton technology in Nagarkurnool District. The programme was attended by Dr. S. Chandrashekar, ADE, PJTAU; Dr. V. Anitha, Associate Dean I/c, Agricultural College, Palem; Sri. Purna Chandra Reddy, ADA, Nagarkurnool; Dr.O. Shaila, Senior Scientist & Head i/c, KVK, Palem; Sri. Kamal, MAO, Thimmajipet Mandal; 45 farmers; 7 farm women; and 11 RAWEP students and all the KVK staff.
