Organized World Environment Day 2026 on 5th June, 2026 at the Agricultural College

The Agricultural College, Adilabad grandly celebrated World Environment Day 2026 on 5th June, 2026 at College premises.

The programme started with welcoming of the Guests and Teaching staff on to the Dias by Ms. Ayesha Maheen, II year student. The programme began with group song on environment functions by II year students.

This was followed by brief introductory remarks on significance of world environment day by Dr. G. Manjulatha, Professor (Agronomy) & OISA. She highlighted the individual and collective responsibility of all citizens towards safeguarding natural resources, promoting sustainable practices, and ensuring a cleaner, greener environment for future generations through nature based solutions by reducing wastage, to switch to renewable energy and shift to sustainable transportation.

On this occasion the series of events were conducted which include “Agri Tech Quiz and Elocution competition”.  The Agri Tech Quiz witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, covering topics such as sustainable agriculture, climate change adaptation, soil health, and renewable energy in farming. The Elocution Competition provided a platform for students to articulate their views on environmental conservation, with speeches emphasizing the urgency of collective action against desertification and the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices in daily life.

Both events not only encouraged academic engagement but also fostered creativity, critical thinking, and awareness among the student community. Certificates of merit were awarded to the winners. The events reinforced the college’s commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious graduates who can contribute meaningfully to sustainable agricultural development.

This programme was attended by all Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of Agricultural College, Adilabad along with all students.

The programme ended with vote of thanks presented by the                 Mr. B. Parmesh, II year student.
