Organized a training programme on “Techniques in Paddy Seed Production” under the PJTAU–NABARD–PACS

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bhadradri Kothagudem, organized a training programme on “Techniques in Paddy Seed Production” under the PJTAU–NABARD–PACS Project at PACS, Bethampudi Village, Tekulapally Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem District on 29.09.2026. Sri. Lakkineni Surender Rao, Chairman, PACS and Director, DCCB, Bethampudi, briefed the participants on the importance of seed production at the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) level. He stated that local seed production would help improve the availability of quality seed to farmers. Dr. Y. Prasanth, Scientist (Plant Breeding) & Zonal Seed Production Officer, CTZ, Warangal, explained the different classes of seed, isolation distances required for seed production, rouging practices, and other important precautions to be followed during paddy seed production.

Sri. Lalchand, Assistant Director of Agriculture, emphasized that quality seed is a basic input for achieving higher crop yields. He advised farmers to take necessary precautions while selecting and procuring seed for cultivation. Dr. T. Bharath, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Bhadradri Kothagudem, explained the various activities involved in seed production under the PJTAU–NABARD–PACS Project and highlighted the importance of producing quality seed at the farmers’ level. Smt. Annapurna, Agricultural Officer (AO), and Sri. Premchari, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Directors along with 35 farmers, participated in the training programme. later conducted Diagnostic field visit in cotton and suitable recommendation given to the farmers.
