Maize Research Unit, PJTAU, ARI, Rajendranagar bagged national recognition: Received Best AICRP centre award for the year 2025-26
The Maize Research Unit of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Agricultural Research Institute (ARI), Rajendranagar, has been honoured with the prestigious Best AICRP Centre Award for the year 2025–26, marking a significant milestone in the field of maize research and development.
The award was presented during the 69th Annual Maize Workshop, held at Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi, from April 9th to 11th , 2026.The event was graced by Dr Mangi Lal Jat, Secretary, DARE and DG, ICAR along with eminent dignitaries including Dr. D.K. Yadava, DDG(Crop science ), Dr. S. C. Dubey, VC, BAU, Ranchi, Dr S. K. Pradhan, ADG (FFC) and Dr H.S. Jat, Director ,IIMR , Ludhiana and the leading maize scientists and policymakers from across the country.
The recognition was conferred in appreciation of the Maize research unit’s outstanding contributions to maize research in terms of hybrid release, technological innovation, and dissemination of improved practices to farmers. The achievement underscores the unit’s commitment to enhancing maize productivity and supporting sustainable agriculture.
