PJTSAU traces its roots to 1955, when Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan inaugurated the Agricultural College at Rajendranagar. It evolved into APAU in 1964 and was later restructured as PJTSAU in 2014 after state bifurcation.
The Knowledge Management Centre, powered by KOHA, serves as a modern academic hub—equipped to meet the evolving needs of students and researchers in the digital age.

The KMC boasts an impressive collection of Textbook’s, Reference Material, Encyclopedias, Back Volumes of Journals, Reports, along with current subscriptions to National and international reputed Journals. It has Book Bank Scheme for SC, ST, BC and OC students. To meet the diverse information needs of academic and research, the KMC provides access to reputed international Databases such as CABI Abstracts, CMIE, Indiastat.com, J-Gate, e-Books etc. apart from this (KMC) member has a in ONOS, which provides access to 13,000 e-journals from 30 well-known publishers.

Library Collection
The University Library is extremely rich in resources 90,200 Books, 1,380 e-Books, 41 Print Journals, 8,500 e-Journals, 11,405 Theses, 11 Databases, 20 News Papers, 21 Periodicals 513 CDs and DVDs. various reports on Agriculture.
Books
Books form the major library collections. While purchasing library books we have also keep in mind that library books should help the students and searching community to foster creativity. The year-wise growth of library books and expenditure on purchasing of books for the last five years.
Library Facilities & Services
The KMC, through its campus network and Remote Login facility, provides access to a huge database collection of subscribed online resources. Web-OPAC will facilitate the users’ search and exploration of the availability of KMC holdings from any place of their convenience 24×7.
Journal's Subscriptions
Knowledge Management Centre are Subscribed around 50 Indian and 11 Foreign Journals, 23 magazines, competitive exam material and dailies. It has rich collection of Back-Volumes bounded and made available for reference of the users.
SECTIONS OF KMC
The Knowledge Management Centres are comprised of following sections:
Circulation Section
The Circulation Section Function as the Issue and Return of Books, Collection of Over Due Charges, Processing the membership cards etc. This section functions from 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on all working days.
Periodical Section
PJTAU Knowledge Management Centre subscribes various National & International Journals, Magazines, Competitive Examinations Material and provides nascent information to the users.
Reference Section
The Reference section houses the KMC reference books, which are meant to provide quick and accessible information on any particular topic. Reference books include topics intended to guide researchers in their studies. The copies of the books recommended by faculty and students are kept for reference purposes. Reference material of KMC is not meant for issues outside.
Book Bank Section
PJT Agricultural University, Knowledge Management Centres provide important books under special book bank scheme, supplied by the concerned Social Welfare Departments for the benefit of the SC, ST and BC students. Special text-book collection is being built up at every KMC campus of all PJTAU Colleges..
Research Carrels
The KMC has 12 Research Carrels established in 2021 for the purpose of using PG and Ph.D. Scholars. The Carrels are equipped with fully air-conditioned, Wi-Fi facility, Laptop charging points to Study for a large time.
Web-OPAC
The Knowledge Management Centre, PJTAU, provides Online Public Access Catalogue to the Teachers, Scientists, Extension Specialists and Students. Three All-in-One touch computer systems have been arranged to enable user to search OPAC at various sections via the Book Section, Periodicals Section and Circulation section to search and retrieve the information of the holdings of KMC.
Reprographic Services
Photocopying facilities have been provided at all the KMCs in College Campuses for the benefit of Students.
RFID Self Check System
All the books are enabled and programmed with RFID Tags for hassle free circulation using 24 x 7 Self Check System and Inventory Management.
Digital Library
The digital infrastructural facilities viz., Interactive Digital Board, Computers, Internet facility, provided at KMC, enables the users to utilize the electronic information via CeRA, CAB Abstracts, Krishi Prabha, EBSCO, Indiastat.com, CRC Net base e-Books, CAB e-Books, Elsevier e-Books etc.to enhance academic and Research Skills of the KMC Users.
Competitive Examination Cell
A separate Competitive Examination Cell has been established at all the PJT Agricultural University campuses for the benefit of students appearing for various competitive examinations and higher studies. The Competitive cell provides useful regarding material for the aspirants of ICAR Examinations, ASRB, ARS, ICAR-JRF/NET, UPSC, TSPSC, GMAT, TOEFL and all Bank exams.

The KMC has Electronic Library Security System to Protect valuable print resources from Theft Pilferage.

KMC – Academic Activities
The PJTAU KMCs conducts a Non-Credit Compulsory Course on Library and Information Services Course (PGS-501) for the PG and Ph.D. Students. The main objective of the course is to educate the users on library resources, its access, formats of information resources, Online Resources, hands on training on e-Resources, Collection of Literature, Writing Articles, and Theses Writing etc.

Rules and Regulations
The books and other material of KMCs are open access to books and shelved in a definite order for easy retrieval. Textbooks, Rare Books, Theses and Dissertations should be referred in the assigned area.
- The students, teachers, scientists, staff can access online/e-Resources like CeRA, CAB Abstracts, Indiastat.com, CMIE Database, Theses Repository i.e. Krishikosh, e-journals, e-books, OPAC etc, at free of cost.
- Personal books, printed reading material etc. are not allowed in the KMC.
- Personnel belongings like Printed Books, Raincoats, Umbrellas, etc, should be deposited at the property counter in entrance.
- Carrying books out of the KMC without Authorisation, marking or underlining in anyway, or disfiguring and mutilating books or property is a misconduct, which may lead to withdrawal of membership and disciplinary action.
- The members should ensure the proper borrowing of not in possession of his or her membership card, or if he or she is drawing books for others.
- The University Librarian can recall the books at any time from any user; their issue will be suspended during the period of stocktaking.
- ‘No Dues Certificate’ should be obtained from the KMC after surrendering the borrowers’ cards and clearing all the dues. In case of the loss of borrowers’ card ‘No Dues Certificates’ can be issued only 14 days after the normal expiry of the membership.
- Change of address and designation should be immediately reported at the Circulation Desk.
- Smoking, Chewing Tobacco, Pan Masala is strictly prohibited in all areas of the KMC.
- Keep the KMC Premises Clean and Maintain Silence.
