Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem organized the inauguration of the Khet Bachao Abhiyan Campaign at Pengadapa Village, Chunchupally Mandal, on 02.06.2026. During the programme, Dr. T. Bharath, Senior Scientist & Head, explained the importance of soil testing, soil test-based fertilizer application and balanced use of fertilizers for improving crop productivity and maintaining soil health. He also highlighted the benefits of green manuring, organic farming, and natural farming for sustainable agricultural production. A practical demonstration on soil sample collection procedures in paddy fields was conducted for the benefit of farmers. Sri B. Shiva, Scientist (Horticulture), explained the balanced use of fertilizers in vegetable and fruit crops and briefed the participants about nutrition kitchen garden kits and backyard poultry as means of improving household nutrition and income. Smt. Sravani, Sarpanch, and Smt. Vasam Sirisha, Vice Sarpanch, attended the programme. A total of 70 farmers participated and benefited from the campaign.
