Jagtial celebrated Professor Late Kothapelli Jayashankar Sir  Birth Aniniversary Celebrations

The Birth Anniversary of Acharya Kothapalli Jayashankar Sir was celebrated with great  reverence and enthusiasm at Agricultural College, Polasa, Jagtial on 06th August, 2026 at  2:30 PM in the College Auditorium. 

The programme commenced with the floral tributes to the portrait of Acharya Kothapalli  Jayashankar Sir, paying homage to his invaluable contributions towards the formation of  Telangana State and his lifelong commitment to education, social justice, and the welfare of  the farming community. 

As part of the celebrations, Essay Writing and Elocution Competitions were organized for  the students in advance. During the programme, Postgraduate and Undergraduate students delivered inspiring speeches highlighting the life, vision, philosophy, and remarkable  contributions of Acharya Jayashankar Sir. The speakers emphasized his dedication to the  Telangana movement, educational reforms, and his enduring legacy as an eminent academician  and visionary leader. 

Following the student presentations, prizes were distributed to the winners of the Essay  Writing and Elocution Competitions in recognition of their outstanding performances. 

Dr. J. Suresh, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Polasa, Jagtial, addressed the gathering  and emphasized the ideals and principles upheld by Professor Jayashankar. He encouraged the  students to emulate his values of integrity, commitment, selfless service, and dedication  towards the development of agriculture and society. 

The entire event was efficiently coordinated by Dr. V. Ratnakar, Officer In-charge, Student  Affairs (OISA), Dr. K. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Adi Shankar, Dr. P. Arun Kumar and Dr. B.  Sowjanya whose efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programme. 

The celebration witnessed the enthusiastic participation of teaching faculty, non-teaching staff,  time-scale staff, outsourcing and contract staff members, postgraduate and undergraduate  students, making the occasion a memorable tribute to the life and legacy of Acharya Kothapalli  Jayashankar Sir.
