International Yoga Day 2026 – “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” at Agricultural College
The 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Agricultural College, Adilabad, under the auspices of the Agricultural College NSS Unit 1. Faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students participated actively in the event.
The students and the staff of the college performed various yoga asanas and pranayama exercises were performed under the guidance of yoga instructor Venkanna. He explained that yoga not only improves physical and mental health but also reduces stress and enhances concentration.
NSS Programme Officer, G. Anil Kumar, encouraged the students to take up Yoga for calming the body & mind and thereby reducing everyday stress, which would in turn help in healthy Ageing.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Y. Praveen Kumar, Associate Dean remarked that Yoga is a magnificent heritage gifted by India to the world. He suggested that students could cultivate a healthy lifestyle by dedicating some time to Yoga every day. He noted that Yoga is highly beneficial for achieving mental peace alongside physical fitness.
