Huzurnagar & Kodangal organized various sports and games activities on 28 August 2026 at Sports Complex

Agricultural College, Nizambad, Huzurnagar & Kodangal organized various sports and games activities on 28 August 2026 at the Sports Complex, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, as part of the National Sports Day – 2026 celebrations. The programme was organized to encourage active participation in sports among students and to promote physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and a healthy lifestyle.

National Sports Day provides an opportunity to create awareness among students regarding the importance of sports and physical activity in their overall development. The celebrations at Agricultural College, Nizambad, Huzurnagar & Kodangal were therefore planned to provide students with a platform to demonstrate their sporting abilities and to develop qualities such as team spirit, coordination, confidence, leadership and mutual respect.

A variety of indoor and outdoor sports and games were conducted during the programme. The events included badminton, volleyball, basketball, tennikoit, table tennis, chess and carrom, with competitions organized for boys and girls wherever applicable. The students participated in the events with great enthusiasm, energy and competitive spirit. The activities generated considerable interest among the students and provided them with an opportunity to interact with one another beyond their regular academic activities.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. C. Sudhakar, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Kodangal, Dr. P. Vijayalakshmi, Dr. N. Praveen, Dr. D. Anil,  Dr. B. Rajashekar and coordinated by the teaching staff of the colleges. The coordinated efforts of the faculty and students ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the different sporting events. 

The students displayed good sporting skills, team coordination and a healthy competitive spirit throughout the programme. The celebrations provided an enjoyable and meaningful experience to the participants and reinforced the importance of regular physical activity and sports as an integral part of student life. As part of the National Sports Day celebrations, the prize distribution ceremony was held on 29 August 2026, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player of India. Prizes were distributed to the winners and runners-up of the various indoor and outdoor sports and games conducted on 28 August 2026, in recognition of their performance, enthusiasm and sporting spirit. The students were congratulated for their active participation and encouraged to continue taking part in sports and physical activities as an integral component of their overall development. The prize distribution added significance to the celebrations by honouring sporting achievement and reinforcing the values of discipline, teamwork, perseverance, physical fitness and sportsmanship exemplified by Major Dhyan Chand. The programme concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from the students, and the participants expressed their happiness and satisfaction with the National Sports Day celebrations.
