FARMERS TRAINING PROGRAM ON QUALITY SEED PRODUCTION IN PADDY

A farmers’ training programme on “Quality Seed Production in Paddy” was organized today at Anajipur Village, Motkur Mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District, under NABARD Project–2026, by Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU), Telangana Rythu Vignana Kendram (KVK), Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and NFCS–PACS, Motkur.

 At the outset Dr. D. Sreelatha, Principal Scientist & Coordinator, TRVK, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District, explained the objectives and importance of the NABARD project and highlighted the significance of quality seed production.

Sri Dev Singh, Project Director (DPD), ATMA, Bhuvanagiri District, addressed the farmers and emphasized the importance of producing quality seed for obtaining better yields and making quality seed available to other farmers.

Dr. V. Sridhar, Senior Scientist (Plant Breeding), ARS, Kampasagar, delivered a technical session on paddy seed production technologies.

Sri Shivakumar,  (ADSC,TGSOCA, Rajendranagar) created awareness among the farmers on seed certification procedures, seed classes, and tagging technology.

Smt. K. Nirmala, ADA, Alair–Motkur, and Smt. Keerthi, AO, Motkur, explained the importance of quality seed production to the farmers.

PACS Director Sri J. Laxmaiah and CEO Smt. Varalakshmi also addressed the gathering and shared their views on the programme.

An interactive session with farmers was conducted, during which scientists and agriculture department officials clarified the farmers’ queries and provided necessary technical guidance.
