District-Level “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” Programme Conducted at College of Agriculture
The College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU), successfully organized the District-Level “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” programme under the aegis of MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, on 1st August 2026 at the College Auditorium. The programme aimed to create awareness among youth about the harmful effects of drugs and substance abuse while promoting a healthy, responsible, and addiction-free lifestyle in line with the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The event started with welcoming of Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Dr. K. Bhanu Rekha, Convenor Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Committee, Convenor and Dr. Snehal, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Portal, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The welcome address by Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, emphasized the pivotal role of youth in building a drug-free and progressive nation and highlighted the various initiatives of MY Bharat in fostering youth leadership, community engagement, and national development. The programme was attended by Dr. K. Kalpana and other NSS Programme Officers, Professors and a total of 312 students, who actively participated in the awareness campaign and various competitions.
As part of the programme, a series of district-level competitions were organized to encourage creative expression and public awareness on the theme “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.” The competitions included Group Folk Music, Group Dance, Nukkad Natak/Mime, Painting, Debate/Elocution, Short Film/Reel Making, Slogan Writing and Slam Poetry. Participants effectively conveyed powerful messages on the prevention of drug abuse, healthy living, and youth empowerment through their artistic, literary, and cultural performances.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, reflecting their commitment to promoting a drug-free society. The performances were evaluated by an expert panel of judges based on originality, creativity, relevance to the theme and overall presentation. Winners securing the first, second, and third positions in the respective competitions were felicitated with momentos and certificates of merit. The first-prize winners were selected to represent the district at the subsequent State-Level competition under the MY Bharat initiative.
The event was concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the commitment of PJTAU towards nurturing socially responsible youth and strengthening national campaigns aimed at achieving a healthy, empowered, and drug-free India.
