Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bhadradri Kothagudem, Senior Scientist & Head Dr. T. Bharath, along with the Agricultural Officer (AO) and Agriculture Extension Officers (AEOs) conducted a diagnostic field visit to cotton and chilli fields at Ravikampadu village, Chandrugonda Mandal, on 17.10.2026. During the field visit, Tobacco Streak Virus (TSV) infestation was identified in cotton, while thrips damage was observed in chilli. Suitable management recommendations were provided to the farmers to minimize crop damage and improve crop health.
The team also inspected cotton fields following farmers’ complaints regarding poor crop performance, particularly small boll size, reduced plant height and a very low number of bolls per plant. The team examined the affected crop to assess the problem.
