KVK, Palem & RARS, Palem, in collaboration with the Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture, organized a “ Rythu Vedikallo Vithana Mela ” on contingency crop planning in view of the El Nino conditions at the Raithu Vedhika, Vangoor on 27.07.2026. The programme was graced by Sri. Hemantha Keshav Patil, Hon’ble District Collector, Nagarkurnool, Dr. C. Vamsi Krishna, Hon’ble MLA, Achampet, and Sri K.V.N. Reddy, Member, Telangana Rythu Commission. The dignitaries emphasized the importance of adopting suitable contingency crops and climate-resilient farming practices to mitigate the adverse effects of the prevailing El Niño conditions. Scientists from KVK, Palem and RARS, Palem, along with officials from the Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture, guided farmers on the availability of quality seeds and recommended suitable crop choices for the current season. A seed sales counter was also organized to facilitate the timely availability of quality seeds to farmers. Officials from the Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture, scientists from KVK and RARS, and 83 farmers actively participated in the programme.
