Celebration of 112th Birth Anniversary of ‘Sri Kaloji Narayana Rao, Poet & Telangana Telugu Language Day

112th Birth anniversary of ‘Sri Kaloji Narayana Rao, Poet’ & Telangana Telugu Language Day was celebrated and offering floral tribute at office premises of ARS, Adilabad on 09.09.2026. Teaching and Non Teaching Staff members, Outsourcing staff, Casual labors (MTS) and Contract labours were participated in the programme.

On this occasion, Dr. K. Rajashekar, Sr. Scientist (Ento.); Dr. D. Mohan Das, Scientist (Agro.); Dr. M. Rajendar Reddy, Scientist (Pl. Br.) and Dr. G. Praveen Kumar, Scientist (Pl. Br.) addressed the gathering and spoke about the life, vision and invaluable contributions of Sri Kaloji Narayana Rao, the renowned poet and social activist.

The speakers explained that Sri Kaloji Narayana Rao (9 September 1914 – 13 November 2002) was a renowned Telugu poet, writer, freedom fighter and social activist from Telangana. He is popularly remembered as “Praja Kavi” (People’s Poet) for his powerful writings that reflected the lives, struggles, aspirations and emotions of ordinary people.

His poetry and writings strongly expressed social justice, democracy, human rights, and Telangana identity. He actively participated in the freedom movement & various social movements and used literature as a means of creating awareness among people. His birth anniversary is observed on 9 September as a day to remember his valuable contribution to Telugu literature and Telangana society. His famous spirit of speaking for the common people continues to inspire generations.
