Bhadradri Kothagudem conducted field visit of quality paddy seed variety Siddi

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem Senior Scientist & Head, Dr. T. Bharath visited the successful cultivation of quality paddy seed variety Siddi (WGL-44) at Surampalem Village, Mulakalapally Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem District on 23.04.2026. This initiative was taken up under the flagship programme “Quality Seed in Every Village” of Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU). Under this programme, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem distributed 20 kg of paddy seed (Siddi – WGL-44) to farmer Sri Madhusudan Rao during Kharif 2005. He successfully cultivated the crop and produced 40 bags of seed, which he sold to fellow farmers for seed purposes. During the Rabi season, farmers in the same village cultivated this variety in about 250 acres and achieved an impressive yield of 42–46 quintals per acre. Scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendra interacted with the farmer and documented this success story in coordination with the Electronic Wing of PJTAU, Hyderabad.
