As per the reference cited above awareness programme on Anti-drugs was conducted on 20-08-2026 at Silver Jubilee Hall, Regional Agricultural Research Station, Jagtial. This programme started by welcome address by Dr. K. Swathi, Asst. Prof (Hort.) and is graced by Associate Director of Research & Principal Dr. A. Venkat Reddy and Sri. R. Sagar, Sub-Inspector of Police, Jagtial Rural. Dr. A. Venkat Reddy addressed the gathering about effect of narcotic drugs especially on the younger generation. Later, Sri. R. Sagar in his words enlighten about the drugs and its metabolism while the narcotic drugs which works on central nervous system effects brain by reducing concentration, poor judgment and decision making, mood swings, anxiety, depression, confusion, risk of psychosis, increased risk of addiction and dependence. In addition to this, these narcotic drugs also effects the physical health by increased or decreased blood pressure, breathing problems, nausea, weight loss which also effects the family conflicts, stress, social isolation and loneliness, financial problems. Addiction to drugs leads life threatening. Opioids such as herion, morphine severely slow breathening and may cause brain injury lead to death. He also emphasized the road safety and about menace of raging to the students in his words.
Addiction to drugs and its effect on family was shown by performance of skit by diploma students. All the students, teaching and non teaching staff of Agricultural Polytechnic and Regional Agricultural Research Station, Jagtial were participated in this programme. The programme was ended by vote of thanks.
