A team of scientists from PJTAU, comprising scientists from ARS, Karimnagar and  TRVK Rajanna Sircilla, conducted a field visit to Moodapalli

A team of scientists from Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU), comprising scientists from Agricultural Research Station (ARS), Karimnagar and Telangana Rythu Vignana Kendra (TRVK), Rajanna Sircilla, conducted a field visit to Moodapalli village in Rajanna Sircilla district to assess pest incidence in paddy, cotton and vegetable crops.

In paddy, incidence of yellow stem borer (stem borer/mogi purugu) was observed. Farmers were advised to apply Carbofuran 3G @ 10 kg/acre, Cartap Hydrochloride 4G @ 8 kg/acre, or Chlorantraniliprole 0.4G @ 4 kg/acre at 10–15 days after transplanting. In case of higher incidence, Cartap Hydrochloride 50 SP @ 400 g/acre or Chlorantraniliprole @ 60 ml/acre was recommended.

In cotton, jassid incidence was observed. Farmers were advised to spray Flonicamid @ 0.3 g/litre, neem oil (1500 ppm) @ 5 ml/litre, along with 13:0:45 @ 10 g/litre of water.

Sai Kumar, Coordinator, TRVK Rajanna Sircilla; Sri Durga raj, Mandal Agricultural Officer; Sri Praveen Kumar, Agricultural Extension Officer; RAWEP students; and progressive farmers.

The scientists advised farmers to regularly monitor their crops and adopt timely, need-based pest management practices.
