Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bhadradri Kothagudem, organized an awareness programme on the effects of El Niño and contingency crop planning, along with the inauguration of a flour mill, at Pubelly Village, Yellandu Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem District on 16.10.2026. During the programme, Dr. T. Bharath, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Bhadradri Kothagudem, explained contingency crop planning in view of the anticipated effects of El Niño and emphasized the need to diversify crops and reduce dependence on paddy cultivation to ensure sustainable agricultural production under changing climatic conditions. Later, inaugurated the flour mill supplied to the beneficiary under the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) with the objective of promoting value addition and supporting livelihood opportunities among tribal farmers. The programme was attended by the Sarpanch, Vice-Sarpanch, Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO), Panchayat Secretary and 60 farmers.
