TRVK-MBNR CONDUCTED a Training Programme on Cotton Shredder Usage

Dr. K. Kalyani, Scientist & Coordinator, Telangana Rythu Vijana Kendram (TRVK), Mahabubnagar, conducted a training programme on cotton shredder usage at Kothur Rythu Vedika, Midjil Mandal, on 14 October 2026.
During the programme, farmers were sensitized on the importance of shredding cotton stalks and incorporating them into the soil to improve soil health, enhance organic matter content, and prevent environmental pollution caused by burning crop residues. Farmers were also advised on drought management practices, suitable crop selection under moisture-stress conditions, and efficient utilization of available water resources.
As part of the On-Farm Trial (OFT), DHM-182 maize hybrid seeds released by Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University were distributed to farmers for field evaluation.
A total of 25 farmers from Kothur, Velgandla, and Mallapur villages, along with the President of Dundubhi Farmer Producer Organization (FPO), participated in the programme. Farmers interacted with the scientist and clarified their queries regarding crop residue management and crop production practices.
