On 29.09.2026, an awareness and training programme on paddy seed production was conducted for the members and farmers of Hanwada Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS).

Dr. K. Kalyani, Coordinator & Scientist, TRVK, Mahabubnagar, provided technical guidance to the farmers. She explained that paddy seed production is being undertaken in 5 acres under Hanwada PACS with NABARD support, with regular crop monitoring and technical guidance by TRVK.

Dr. Kalyani emphasized the importance of farmers learning seed production techniques and producing quality seed on their own, thereby reducing dependence on external sources and the cost of purchasing seed. She also explained that PACS can serve as a platform for seed processing, storage and marketing, enabling farmers to access quality seed at affordable prices.

She further advised farmers to avoid excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and to adopt integrated and natural management practices for maintaining soil health and sustainable crop production.

The Chairman of Hanwada PACS appreciated the initiative of providing scientific guidance directly to farmers and highlighted its benefits to both farmers and the cooperative society.

The programme was attended by the PACS Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Directors, CEO and farmers. A total of 30 farmers participated in the programme.
