Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTAU), Telangana Rythu Vignana Kendra (TRVK), Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District, conducted a training programme for farmers on “Quality Seed Production in Rice”  at Kolanupaka Village, Alair Mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District, under NABARD Project–2026, on 26-09-2026.

Dr. D. Sreelatha, Principal Scientist and Coordinator, Telangana Rythu Vignana Kendra, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District, explained the objectives and importance of the NABARD project and highlighted the significance of quality seed production for improving crop productivity and farm returns.

Dr. V. Sridhar, Senior Scientist (Plant Breeding), ARS, Kampasagar, delivered a technical session on rice seed production technologies. He also created awareness among farmers about seed certification procedures, different classes of seeds, and tagging technologies involved in quality seed production.

Smt. K. Nirmala, ADA, Alair–Motkur, and Sri Srinivas, MAO, Alair, explained the importance of quality seed production and encouraged farmers to adopt recommended practices for maintaining seed quality.

Sri Venkata Reddy, PACS CEO; Sri Veeramallaiah, PACS Director; Smt. Yakamamma, Sarpanch, Kolanupaka; and Sri Vijender Reddy, Deputy Sarpanch, Sri Ramesh , President Someswara Rythu Sangam Kolanupaka,addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of farmer-oriented initiatives and institutional support for promoting quality seed production.

An interactive session with farmers was also conducted during the programme. Scientists and agriculture department officials clarified the farmers’ queries and provided technical guidance on various aspects of rice seed production.

Farmers, Agriculture Department Extension Officers, PACS representatives, and representatives of the Someshwara Farmers’ Association, 36 farmers participated in the programme.
