Tornala conducted Diagnostic field visit cum Awareness on Paddy, Cotton at Kistasagar (V), Siddipet Urban (M) & Koheda

TRVK, Siddipet conducted diagnostic field visit cum group discussion on Paddy & Cotton at Kistasagar (V), Siddipet Urban (M) & Koheda (V&M) on 09.09.2026 along with Agriculture department officials (MAO- B. Srinath, AEOs- Meerabai, MAO- N. Sathish, AEOs- Sridhar Reddy, Mahipal, Raghu, Srinivas (ATM)). During the visit, a severe incidence of rice stem borer was observed in the paddy at tillering stage.  In cotton fields, infestation of sucking pests such as leafhoppers, aphids, and mealybugs were observed. Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Coordinator & Scientist (CP), Dr. D. Swetha, Scientist (Agronomy), ARS, Tornala, Smt. A. Saritha, Scientist (Pl. Br.), ARS, Tornala advised farmers to spray neem oil @ 5 ml per L (1500 ppm), 19:19:19 or 13:0:45 @ 10 g per litre of water to promote crop growth along with Imidacloprid@ 0.4 ml/L or Acetamiprid @ 0.2 g/L or Thiodicarb @ 0.2 g/L or Fipronil @ 2 ml/L in cotton. In paddy, stem borer recommended to spray Cartap hydrochloride 50 SP @ 2 g/L or 75 SP 1.0 g/L or Tetraniliprole @ 95 ml/L or Chlorantraniliprole @ 60 ml/L, also observed potash deficiency, recommended to apply 20 kg/acre MOP. Created awareness on pheromone traps on Pink boll worm (Cotton), precautions while spraying Nano DAP and Nano Urea in Paddy. In this programme, Sarpanch- A. Venkataiah, Upa sarpanch-S. Sampath, S. Rajamalliah, Rajaiah, Malliah, Pandari, Parsharamulu, Sadashiva, Shekar, Yadagiri, Gopi, Mahinder Reddy, and 25 farmers participated.
