Sensitization of PACS on Seed Production as a Business Activity and Project Implementation Activities of Erstwhile Warangal District
On August 14, 2026, Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU), in collaboration with NABARD, organized a workshop titled “Sensitization of PACS on Seed Production as a Business Activity and Project Implementation Activities of Erstwhile Warangal District” at the District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB) premises in Warangal.
The workshop focused on sensitizing Chairmen and Secretaries of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) on procuring breeder seeds, cultivating high-quality seeds at the farmer level, and redistributing them to local farming communities through the PACS network.
Shri Wazir Sultan (CEO, Warangal DCCB), Dr. M. V. Nagesh Kumar (Director of Seeds, PJTAU), Dr. M. Sridhar (Associate Director of Research, CTZ, Warangal) Smt. Neeraja (District Cooperative Officer, Warangal) Shri Chandrasekhar (DDM, NABARD, Hanamkonda) all emphasized the strategic importance of initiating village-level seed production to build local self-reliance and maximize financial benefits for farmers. Also urged cooperative societies across the state to follow scientific protocols and transform seed production into a viable commercial opportunity.
