Jogulamba Gadwal Diagnostic Field Visit Conducted in Jogulamba
A diagnostic field visit was conducted on 16-07-2026 in Ketidoddi and Dharur mandals of Jogulamba Gadwal district by the scientists of the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Palem, in collaboration with the Telangana Rythu Vignana Kendram (TRVK), Jogulamba Gadwal.
During the visit, paddy nursery and cotton fields were inspected to assess the crop condition and identify field-level production constraints. The team examined crop growth, nutrient deficiency symptoms, insect pest incidence, and disease occurrence, and provided location-specific recommendations to the farmers.
In the paddy nursery, yellowing and stunted growth were observed in several fields. Farmers were advised to spray Carbendazim + Mancozeb @ 2.5 g/L of water along with 19:19:19 water-soluble fertilizer @ 5 g/L of water to improve seedling health, reduce disease incidence, and promote vigorous growth.
In cotton, stunted growth was observed in some fields due to irregular rainfall, moisture stress, and nutrient deficiencies. Farmers were advised to carry out inter cultivation and earthing-up, maintain optimum soil moisture, and apply the recommended dose of fertilizers. For quick recovery and improved vegetative growth, a foliar spray of 19:19:19 water-soluble fertilizer @ 10 g/L of water was recommended. Farmers were also advised to monitor the crop regularly for sucking pests and adopt timely integrated pest management (IPM) measures to ensure healthy crop growth.
The scientists also interacted with farmers, addressed their field-related queries, and emphasized the adoption of the latest recommendations of Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTSAU) for sustainable and profitable crop production.
The diagnostic team comprised Dr. P. Archana, Coordinator, Telangana Rythu Vignana Kendram (TRVK), Jogulamba Gadwal District; A. Sriram, Scientist (Plant Breeding); Mrs. K. Mamatha, Scientist (Agronomy); Mrs. G. Madhuri, Scientist (Entomology); Mr. Y. Raja Vardhan, Mandal Agricultural Officer; and Mr. Shivakumar, Agricultural Extension Officer.
