Mbnr & RARS Palem inspected cotton, maize, chilli, brinjal, and drumstick Mbnr Dist on 02.07.2026
Scientists of Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU), Dr. K. Kalyani, Scientist (Soil Science), Telangana Rythu Vignyan Kendra (TRVK), Mahabubnagar, and Dr. K. Sadaiah, Scientist (Plant Breeding), Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Palem, visited Vallabharaopally, Pasupula, Ranipet, and Kothapally villages of Midjil Mandal, Mahabubnagar district on 02.07.2026 and inspected cotton, maize, chilli, brinjal, and drumstick crops. They provided scientific advisories to farmers on the management of these crops.
In view of the prevailing dry spell attributed to the El Niño effect, the scientists advised farmers on the precautionary measures to be adopted in different crops under moisture stress conditions. They also emphasized the importance of raising green manure crops and adopting crop diversification to improve soil health, enhance farm sustainability, and build resilience against climatic variability.
Further, the farmers were advised to incorporate crop residues into the soil and to apply liquid fertilizers and plant protection chemicals judiciously, based on crop requirements and field conditions.
The programme was attended by Mr. Ghouse Pasha, Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO), Pasupula Cluster, along with farmers from the respective villages.
