KVK Bhadradri Kothagudem, in collaboration with the All India Coordinated Research Project on Maize, organized a Training-cum-Distribution Programme of Maize Seeders under the Tribal Sub Plan
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem, in collaboration with the All India Coordinated Research Project on Maize, organized a Training-cum-Distribution Programme of Maize Seeders under the Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) at the KVK premises on 27 June 2026.The programme was attended by Dr. Sridhar, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal, who emphasized the importance of effectively utilizing the distributed maize seeders to reduce labour costs, ensure timely sowing, and enhance maize productivity. He also encouraged farmers to make use of the technical guidance and advisory services provided by KVK for improving crop productivity.
Smt. Lalitha Kumari, Deputy Mayor of Kothagudem Municipal Corporation, highlighted that the programme provided a valuable opportunity for tribal farmers to benefit from the scientific advisories and technical support offered by KVK scientists. Dr. D. Bhadru, Principal Scientist (Maize), delivered a technical session on Integrated Crop Management (ICM) in maize, explaining improved production practices for achieving higher yields and better profitability. As part of the programme, 52 maize seeders, 50 tarpaulins, and herbicides were distributed to 150 tribal farmers under the Tribal Sub Plan. The programme was attended by Dr. Susila, Principal Scientist & Head; Dr. T. Bharath, Senior Scientist & Head; Dr. Anusha, Scientist (Entomology); Sri Shiva, Scientist (Horticulture), along with 150 farmers. The programme concluded with the distribution of agricultural inputs and implements, reaffirming the commitment of KVK Bhadradri Kothagudem and AICRP on Maize towards promoting mechanization, scientific maize cultivation, and improving the livelihoods of tribal farming communities.
