Awareness training programme on cotton cultivation and input distribution to the farmers under ICAR NFMS FLD’s on RARS
The Cotton Research Scheme, RARS, Warangal, organized an “Awareness Training Programme on Cotton Cultivation and Input Distribution to Farmers” under the ICAR-NFSM Front Line Demonstrations (FLDS) on Cotton at the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Warangal, on 17.06.2026. During the programme, Dr. M. Sreedhar, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal, explained the objectives of the programme and created awareness among farmers on the important practices to be followed for successful cotton cultivation. Dr. G. Veranna, Principal Scientist (Cotton), delivered a lecture on the High-Density Planting System (HDPS) in cotton and highlighted its advantages in improving productivity. Dr. V. Venkanna, Principal Scientist (Plant Breeding), interacted with the farmers and explained the best management practices to be adopted for enhancing cotton yield and profitability. Dr. S. Omprakash, Scientist (Entomology), created awareness on the use of pheromone traps for the management of pink bollworm and yellow sticky traps for monitoring and managing sucking pests in cotton. As part of the programme, 50 beneficiary farmers were selected for the distribution of critical inputs, including cotton seed, neem oil, profenophos, sticky traps, pheromone traps and lures, to support the adoption of recommended cotton production and pest management practices.
