Babu Jagjivan Ram Agricultural College, Sircilla, celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day

Babu Jagjivan Ram Agricultural College, Sircilla, celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day on 21 June 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and college officials. The programme was organized to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle through the practice of yoga.

The event was conducted in the college premises during the morning hours under the guidance of Dr. S. Upendhar, Associate Dean. The programme witnessed the active participation of the Officer in-charge of Student Activities (OISA), NSS Officers, teaching and non-teaching staff and students. In his address, Dr. S. Upendhar Associate Dean, BJR Agricultural College, Sircilla emphasized the significance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional health and encouraged everyone to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine.

The yoga session was conducted by Yoga Trainer Mr. Ashok who guided the participants through various yoga asanas, pranayama exercises, meditation techniques, and the Common Yoga Protocol. The pranayama session included stretching exercises, Surya Namaskar, breathing techniques, and relaxation practices aimed at improving flexibility, concentration, and overall wellness.

The celebration was observed in the spirit of the International Yoga Day theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” highlighting the importance of yoga in fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Participants performed the yoga practices with enthusiasm and discipline, demonstrating their commitment to health and well-being. During the programme, the benefits of regular yoga practice in reducing stress, improving physical fitness, enhancing mental clarity and promoting overall wellness were highlighted. Students were encouraged to continue practicing yoga regularly to achieve a healthy body and mind.
