Celebration of “World Environment Day and Plantation programme at PJTAU” on 05.06.2026 at AICRP on Agroforestry
A plantation programme on the eve of “World Environment Day” was organized on 05.06.2026 at AICRP on Agroforestry, C-NARE, PJTAU in association with DELL Technologies and Learning Links Foundation, NGO, New Delhi. Mr. Ramesh Jampula, Vice President and Site Director, Dell Technologies, Hyderabad, Ms. B. Latha, Project Manager, Dell Technologies, Hyderabad, Dr. V. Ramulu, Director, C-NARE; Dr. Y. Chandra Mohan, Director, ARI; Dr. B. Balazzii Naaiik, Security Officer, Dr. A.V. Ramanjaneyulu, Pr. Scientist (Agro.) & Head and Dr. D. Vijaya Lakshmi, Scientist (Soil Science), teaching and non-teaching staff of AICRP on Agroforestry, Ms. J. Jeevitha, Chief Manager, Mr Ayub Khan and Mr. Ilyas from Learning Links foundation (LLF), 30 employees from DELL Technologies have participated in this programme.
Dr. A.V. Ramanjaneyulu has welcomed all the dignitaries and participants and explained in brief about significance of World Environment Day with theme “Inspired by Nature, For Life, For Future”. Mr. Ramesh expressed happiness about engaging volunteers in plantation programme on this auspicious day and thanked the university for the great support. Ms. Latha emphasized on CSR funding to the plantation programme. Dr. V. Ramulu spoke on the ongoing plantation activities in PJTAU in collaboration with Corporates and NGOs and thanked them for funding under CSR and enlightened all participants about importance of tree plantation for saving nature for future generations. Dr. D. Vijaya Lakshmi explained about the procedure and precautions to be followed in forest tree saplings.
On this auspicious occasion, 300 saplings viz., Casuarina equisetifolia and Santalum album (Sandal wood) (block plantation) besides Cocos nucifera (Coconut) and Sweitenia macrophylla (Mahogany) (Border plantation) were planted in Agroforestry research farm.
