KVK, Palem – Inauguration of “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” (1st June – 30th June, 2026) at Bijinepally Raithuvedhika (V), Bijinepally (M), Nagarkurnool (D)
The programme was organized as part of the month-long nationwide campaign, Khet Bachao Abhiyan, being conducted from 1st June to 30th June, 2026, with the objective of preparing farmers for the ensuing Kharif season and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. As part of the campaign launched by the Government of India, KVK, Palem, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, inaugurated the programme at Bijinepally Raithu Vedika. Dr. P. Prashanth, SMS (Agricultural Extension), highlighted the major objectives of the campaign, including the promotion of soil test-based nutrient management, balanced and judicious use of fertilizers, and reduction in excessive dependence on chemical fertilizers. Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection), emphasized the importance of improving soil fertility and ensuring long-term agricultural sustainability through the adoption of natural farming, integrated farming systems, and climate-resilient agricultural practices. She also created awareness among farmers on scientific crop management and various government schemes. Sri Kamal, Mandal Agriculture Officer, Bijinepally, briefed the participants on the cropping pattern and agricultural scenario of the mandal. In this programme Dr. P. Prashanth, SMS (Agricultural Extension), Dr. O. Shaila, SMS (Plant Protection), Sri. Kamal, MAO, Bijinepally, Sri Kamal, Mandal Agriculture Officer, Bijinepally, Sri. Madhu, AEO, Sri. Kranthi, AEO and 32 farmers were participated.
