Training cum Awareness programme on “Greengram preceding to Rice fallows” at TRVK

Training cum Awareness programme on “Greengram preceding to Rice fallows” was organised by TRVK, Siddipet at Chinnakodur (V & M) Rythu Vedika on 01.06.2026. Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Coordinator & Scientist (CP) highlighted the importance of green gram cultivation, its role in improving the fertility of soil by the addition of organic carbon and also emphasized farming community about the scope of pulses area expansion with suitable varieties which can be adopted in different cropping systems. she also emphasized on the importance of greengram in N fixation and improving soil fertility due to its leguminous nature and also green manuring before kharif rice. As part of Khet Bachavo Abhiyan, Dr. Mangesh Y. Dhude, Principal Scientist, IIOR, Hyderabad explained about optimum use and balanced fertilizers as farmers are applying three times more nitrogen there by leading to deficiency of Magnesium g and Boron. FPO farmers should became a group and make successful oil extraction unit over long run. Dr. T. Basawaraju, Senior Scientist, IIOR, Hyderabad explained about Soil testing for soil test based fertilizer application and make available biofertilizers (Azospirillium and PGPR) for application in farmers field and further action plan of Chinnakodur FPO. In this programme, Chinnakodur FPO Chairman, other Directors, FPO YP Niharika and 54 no. of farmers have attended.
