Training and Awareness Programme on Good Agricultural Practices in Maize and Distribution of Inputs under Tribal Sub Plan

Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized Training and Awareness Programme on Good Agricultural Practices in Maize and Distribution of Inputs under Tribal Sub Plan” at ARS, Karimnagar on 22-05-2026. At the outset, Dr. E. Umarani, Scientist (Pl. Br.), ARS, Karimnagar has welcomed gathering and explained about the objective of Tribal Sub Plan,  importance of maize crop and its promotion of maize under crop diversification, problems and perceptive of maize cultivation during ensuing Kharif season

Followed by, Dr. B. Ramprasad, Principal Scientist (Ento.) and Head, ARS, Karimnagar briefed about the research activities carried out at ARS, Karimnagar. Further, he explained in detail about the integrated pest and disease management of maize crop including FAW. Later, Dr, E. Rajanikanth, Senior Scientist (Agro.) highlighted the good agricultural practices to be followed in Maize. Later, Dr. G. Usharani, Scientist (Pl. Br.) ARS, Karimnagar focused on, hybrids released from ARS, Karimnagar, hybrid seed production technology and cultivation of specialty corns as means to generate additional income

Further, Dr. B. Harikrishna, Scientist (CP) and Coordinator, TRVK Karimnagar focused on crop diversification and residue management of maize. Followed by, explained in detail about the role of digital media and AI in Agriculture. 

Followed by Sri. Ramulu Nayak a progressive farmer from Errabelli Village of Veleru Mandal shared his experiences about the cultivation of Karimnagar Makka-1 hybrid under mechanized conditions.

Later, Manual operated single seeders were distributed to the 52 ST community farmers of Errabelli village of Veleru Mandal. During the programme, Sri. G. Srinivas, AEO, Sri Narasimhulu, AEO, Sri. G. Srikanth AEO, Sri Vamshi, AEO and around 55 progressive farmers from Errabelli village of Veleru Mandal of Warangal District were attended the programme. The programme was ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. G. Usharani, Scientist (Pl. Br.), ARS, Karimnagar.
