Mbnr conducted a comprehensive training programme
TRVK, Mahabubnagar scientists Dr. P. Archana and Dr. K. Kalyani organized and conducted a comprehensive training programme on the formation of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) for 40 natural farmers. The programme focused on creating awareness among farmers about the importance of collective farming, better market access, value addition, and improved bargaining power through FPOs. The scientists explained in detail the step-by-step procedure for FPO formation, including farmer mobilization, registration process, share capital contribution, governance structure, and operational management. They also highlighted the profitability of FPOs, opportunities for collective input purchase and collective marketing, and the benefits available through various government schemes and support programmes for farmer groups.
During the technical session, Dr. K. Kalyani delivered an in-depth lecture on natural farming practices, covering important aspects such as use of Jeevamrutham, Beejamrutham, mulching, soil health management, and pest management through natural inputs. She also explained the organic certification procedure for farm produce, including documentation, internal control systems, certification agencies, and the benefits of certified products in securing premium market prices. In this programme, the Chairman of the Cooperative Society, Sri Mukund Reddy, along with 40 members, actively participated and interacted with the scientists on FPO development and natural farming opportunities.
