Intensive campaign on Balanced use of fertilizers
The campaign on Balanced use of fertilizers aims to educate farmers on using the right nutrient proportions (N, P, K, and micronutrients) based on soil tests, rather than overuse. It promotes Integrated Nutrient Management (INM)- combining chemical fertilizers with organic manures- to enhance soil health, boost crop yield, and prevent environment pollution.
In this regard KVK, Wyra conducted training programme on “Balanced use of fertilizers” at Enkoor Cluster Rythuvedika on 07.04.2026 where farmers from Enkoor, Nacharam and Jannaram participated.
Dr. T. Pavani, SMS (Crop Protection), KVK, Wyra addressed the gathering and explained the importance of fertilizers and highlighted the 4R approach and the importance of organic matter (compost, manure) for long term soil sustainability.
Dr. V. Chaitanya SMS (Horticulture) explained about Soil health card promotion, alternative fertilizers, environment protection, and crop efficiency. Encouraged the farmers to test soil to determine precise nutrient needs and reduce excessive urea application and improve yields by managing macro and micro nutrient deficiencies in soil.
