Mission: To promote scientific processing, branding, and commercialization of agri-produce through university-led value addition units, supporting entrepreneurship, market linkages, and sustainable agri-food systems.

The University actively promotes value addition of agricultural produce to enhance farmer income, improve marketability, and support agri-based entrepreneurship. As part of this initiative, two value addition units have been established at the Agricultural Research Station (ARS), Tandur, focusing on converting locally produced crops into quality end-use food products under University-owned brands.

University-Branded Value-Added Products

1. Safflower Oil – “PJTAU–KarthaGold™”: Cold-processed and quality-tested safflower oil is produced and marketed under the University brand PJTSAU–KarthaGold™. The product is positioned as a healthy edible oil option with assured quality and traceability.

2. Redgram Dal – “PJTAU–Pro-Pulse™”: High-quality redgram dal is processed and marketed under the University brand PJTSAU–Pro-Pulse™, ensuring purity, nutritional value, and consistency. The unit supports local pulse producers while providing consumers with a reliable protein-rich food product.

Impact and Outreach: The Value Addition Unit serves as a demonstration and commercialization platform, linking research, production, processing, branding, and marketing. It contributes to farmer empowerment, income enhancement and skill development, while also providing experiential learning opportunities for students and stakeholders.
