KVK Wyra Scientists attended as a resource persons in farmers meeting

ATMA conducted farmers meeting on 08.04.2026 at Manchu Konda village and Raghunathapalem Mandal. KVK, Wyra scientist Dr. T. Pavani, SMS (Crop protection), Dr. V. Chaitanya, SMS (Horticulture) attended as resource persons for the programme along with ATMA and Department of Agriculture. In this meeting Sri K. Venkateshwar Rao, ADA, Raghundapalem, Sri K. Uma Maheshwar Reddy, MAO, Raghunadapalem, ATMA Chairman Sri D. Chinna Venkateshwarlu, Sri Nagesh, CLH&SO, Raghundaaplem, were attended in this event.

Dr. T. Pavani, SMS (Crop Protection), KVK, Wyra addressed the gathering and explained the importance of  balanced use fertilizers and pesticides for crops and highlighted the 4R approach and the importance of organic matter (compost, manure) for long term soil sustainability and also explained about the integrated pest management in chilli and Oil palm.

Dr. V. Chaitanya SMS (Horticulture) explained about Soil health card promotion, alternative fertilizers, environment protection, and crop efficiency. Encouraged the farmers to test soil to determine precise nutrient needs and reduce excessive urea application and improve yields by managing macro and micro nutrient deficiencies in soil and also explained about summer vegetable cultivation.

In this event around 110 farmers and farm women from Manchukonda cluster were participated actively and interacted with scientists on crop diversification.
