Kampasagar, successfully organized a Field Day

Event Overview: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kampasagar, successfully organized a Field Day on April 10, 2026, in Japthi Veerappagudem village, Miryalaguda mandal, Nalgonda District. The program, titled “Demonstration of Novel Innovations through Drone Technology for Cost-Effective Solutions in Paddy Crop,” was designed to showcase modern precision farming tools to the local agricultural community.

Key Highlights and Technical Sessions: Dr. K. Chandrashaker, Programme Coordinator, briefed the participants on the objectives of the program and provided a detailed explanation of the drone demonstration. The session focused on the efficiency of using drones for field operations such as sowing and the application of chemicals and fertilizers. It was noted that drone-based Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) methods can save approximately 20-30% of water and reduce cultivation costs by addressing labor shortages. A drone can broadcast seeds across one acre in just 10-15 minutes, ensuring uniform distribution and minimal seed loss.

Farmer Perspective and Field Visit: A practicing farmer, Sri. K. Narayana Rao, shared his first-hand experience with drone technology. Following the discussion, participants visited the demonstrated field to observe the results of these novel innovations. The scientists emphasized that if proper weed and water management are followed, the yield from DSR is equivalent to traditional transplanting methods while significantly increasing the farmer’s net profit.
