Electronic Wing

Established in November 2001 at the Agriculture Research Institute Campus, Rajendranagar, plays a pivotal role in the digital dissemination of agricultural technologies. The Wing creates, curates and delivers multimedia content to ensure that scientific knowledge reaches farmers, extension personnel, students and the wider public in an accessible and engaging manner

Mandate

Content Production & Dissemination

  • Produce YouTube videos, Television segments and Radio programmes in collaboration with university scientists.
  • Popularize PJTAU technologies through electronic and social media platforms.
  • Develop innovative ICT models for effective technology transfer (e.g., Rythu Nestham ).
  • Document success stories and farmer-led innovations.
  • Create and disseminate e-posters, educational videos and other multimedia.
  • Produce DVDs on crops, technologies and best practices (as needed).

Media Coordination & Partnerships

  • Serve as a liaison between PJTAU, Doordarshan, All India Radio, T-SAT and the State Department of Agriculture.
  • Identify topics and resource scientists for phone-in live programmes and expert interactions.
  • Provide technical and visual support to public and private television channels.
  • Support All India Radio agriculture programmes.

Digital Outreach & Advisory Support

  • Facilitate farm tele-advisories through Kisan Call Centres.
  • Send agricultural alert messages to television channels and All India Radio.
  • Regularly update the PJTAU YouTube channel with videos on technologies, University activities, pest/disease advisories, weather-based agro-advisories and farmer success stories.
  • Conduct and coordinate the RythuNestham Live Video Conference every Tuesday (10–11 AM).

Training & Capacity Building

  • Organize ICT-based training programmes in collaboration with MANAGE for University scientists and staff of Department of Agriculture across India.
  • Support online training, virtual demonstrations and expert webinars by University.
  • Engage students through production of the Chenu Kaburlu Student Radio programme broadcast by All India Radio, Hyderabad.

Institutional Support

  • Provide media coverage of university events and broadcast them through official digital platforms.

Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the University from time to time.
