Bellampalli- Training Programme and Input Distribution under CFLD on Oilseeds

A Training Programme and Input Distribution under the Cluster Front Line Demonstration (CFLD) on Oilseeds (2025–26) was successfully organized on 08 January 2026 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Bellampalli, Mancherial district, under PJTSAU. The programme was conducted with the objective of enhancing farmers’ awareness on the importance of oilseed crops and disseminating improved production technologies to increase productivity and profitability.

Dr. Prasuna, Programme Coordinator, KVK Bellampalli, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of oilseeds in improving farm income, nutritional security, and soil health. She emphasized the need for adopting improved varieties and scientific crop management practices to achieve higher yields and sustainable production. Dr. N. Mahesh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), delivered a comprehensive lecture on sesame production technologies, covering suitable varieties, optimum sowing time, seed rate, nutrient management, weed management, pest and disease management, and harvesting practices. The session was highly interactive, with farmers actively participating and clarifying their field-level doubts.

As part of the programme, certified sesame seed of variety JCS-1020 was distributed to 50 farmers under the CFLD Oilseeds programme to encourage the adoption of improved varieties at the grassroots level. The programme concluded with an effective scientist–farmer interaction, during which farmers expressed satisfaction with the training and confidence in adopting the recommended sesame cultivation practices during the forthcoming season. The programme witnessed the active involvement of scientists including Dr. Prasuna, Programme Coordinator; Dr. N. Mahesh, Subject Matter Specialist (Crop Production); Dr. U. Sravanthi, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture); and Smt. P. Sadvi, Subject Matter Specialist (Extension), with participation from 50 farmers.
