A workshop on “High Density Planting System (HDPS) in Cotton” was organized on 26th March, 2026 at Masukunta village of Bhuvanagiri mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, under the aegis of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) through the Telangana Rythu Vigyana Kendram (TRVK), as part of a special project of the Cotton Research Station. During the programme, Dr. D. Srilatha, Principal Scientist and Coordinator of TRVK, addressed the gathering and elaborated on the concept of High Density Cotton Cultivation, its advantages, and project details. She emphasized the need to expand this technology across the district and advised agricultural extension officers to promote it actively. She also informed that the Government of India is providing an incentive of ₹5,000 per acre directly to farmers adopting High Density Planting System under this project. District Agriculture Officer, Sri P. V. Ramana Reddy, highlighted that higher yields can be achieved through this method and encouraged farmers to adopt this system in the upcoming Kharif season as well. Dr. Y Prashanth, Scientist from Regional Agricultural Research Station, Warangal, explained crop management practices and pest management strategies under High Density Planting System. Assistant Director of Agriculture (ADA), Sri Venkateshwarlu, elaborated on the usage and benefits of the Cotton Shredder. ADA Smt. S. Neelima and ADA Smt. Shanti Nirmala from Yadagirigutta provided field-level implementation guidelines to agricultural extension officers for effective execution of this method. A large number of agricultural officers and extension personnel from Bhuvanagiri and Jangaon districts participated in the programme and expressed their readiness to implement this technology effectively at the field level
