Organized Workshop on preparedness for “HDPS Cotton” under ICAR - CICR Special Project on Cotton 2024 at KVK, Malyal on 26-03-2025

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Workshop on preparedness for “HDPS Cotton” under ICAR-CICR Special Project on Cotton, 2024 at Rythuvedika, Mahabubabad on 26-03-2025. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, ADR, CTZ, Warangal participated through online in his inaugural address explained about importance of mechanization in HDPS Cotton and scope to increased HDPS Cotton area in the State. Dr. G. Veeranna, Principal Scientist, RARS, Warangal explained concept of HDPS Cotton, difference between conventional method and HDPS, sowing time, machine sowing through pneumatic planter, importance of application of growth regulator on time, canopy management in HDPS cotton fallowed by others crops and importance of high density cotton in light soils in the District. Smt. D. Ashwini, Scientist (Plant Pathology), RARS, Warangal explained about Disease Management in HDPS Cotton. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) explained about, ICAR-CICR Special Project on cotton, Project objectives & last year area and farmers covered, no of programmes conducted, farmer success stories & results. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal explained need of HDPS Cotton in our area, target achieved area of 2024 in the district and feasibility of machine who had taken up sowing through pneumatic planter and advantages with the pneumatic planter and Cotton shredder through mechanization. In this programme Smt. M. Vijaya Nirmala, DAO, Mahabubabad, Sri A. Srinivasa Rao, ADA, Mahabubabad, Sri V. Vijay Chandran, ADA, Maripeda, 17 Agriculture officers and 81 Agriculture Extension Officers Mahabubabad district participated.
