The Telangana Rythu Vigyan Kendra (TRVK), Warangal, successfully conducted two Awareness and Stakeholders Consultation programme on the Draft Seed Bill 2025 on November 19 and 20, 2025. The initiative was designed to disseminate comprehensive information about the proposed legislation to key stakeholders and solicit crucial, multi-sectoral feedback for the final draft, ensuring the bill is inclusive and reflective of ground realities across the agricultural value chain. The programme for the stakeholders of Warangal and Hanmakonda districts convened on November 19, 2025, with an "awareness programme and brainstorming session" held at the Training Hall of TRVK, Warangal. The session was presided over by the Chief Guest, Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Warangal, who guided the core discussion on the new bill. Dr. A. Vijaya Bhaskar, Coordinator of TRVK, provided critical insights through a detailed Power Point Presentation(PPT), detailing the bill’s key aspects, various sections and groups incorporated in the proposed law, and important amendments. This session was specifically structured to facilitate open dialogue, inviting farmers, Farmers Producers Organisations (FPOs), seed producers, vegetable nursery growers, seed processors, seed companies and other stakeholders to express their views and suggestions for inclusion in the draft. Participation was robust, featuring key governmental figures such as Smt. Anuradha (District Agriculture Officer, Warangal), Sri Srinivasa Rao (District Horticulture Officer, Warangal), and the Horticulture Officer, Hanumakonda. The academic and research community was strongly represented by scientists from RARS and TRVK, along with Agricultural University REAC Member Sri. Yadagiri, and representatives from the National Seed Corporation ,Seed Certification Officers, TGSSDCL & TGSSOCA officials and various seed sector entities. Further, the Stakeholders Consultation programme was organised on November 20, 2025, for the stakeholders of Mulugu and Jayashankar Bhupalapally districts at the Rythu Vedika, Regonda. Dr. A. Vijaya Bhaskar presided over the proceedings, delivering a comprehensive presentation that covered the key concepts, studies, and amendments within the Draft Seed Bill 2025. This focused conference successfully engaged local and regional administrative bodies, including Jayashankar Bhupalpally District ADA Sri Ramesh, Mulugu District ADA Sri Avinash, and Regonda Mandal Agriculture Officer Sri Vasudevareddy. Scientific expertise was provided by TRVK scientists Dr. Venkata Rajkumar and Dr. Vishwateja, and RARS scientist Dr. Prashanth. Further local engagement was ensured by the participation of District Horticulture Officer, Bhupalpally Sri Sunil, Horticulture Officer, Mulugu Sri Srikanth, Agricultural Extension Officers (AEOs), Seed Certification Officers, and local representatives from Farmer Producers Organization (FPO), seed companies, and farming communities. In summary, the two-day initiative ensured thorough information dissemination and consultation, gathering crucial, multi-sectoral feedback from all the four districts from grassroots level. The comprehensive involvement of research personnel, administrative staff, and end-users positions this feedback as vital input for the finalization of the Draft Seed Bill 2025.
