TRVK, Siddipet conducted Awareness and Training Programme on Improved Crop Management Practices in Sunflower at Katkur (V), Akkannapet (M) on 09.02.2026, Siddipet district. Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist (CP) explained about improved cultivation techniques like timely sowing, nutrient management, and pest and disease control practices, micronutrient application, and reducing cultivation costs through need-based input use for achieving higher yields. Farmers were also informed about efficient input use and the role of micronutrients like boron in sunflower cultivation and placing 2-3 honeybee boxes can enhance yields by 10-15%. Later, Ms. Veena Reddy, ADA (Husnabad), informed the farmers that area should be increased under oil seeds which is main motto of NMEO project, further procuring, cold storage and post-harvest oil processing can be established if enough area will be under sunflower through FPO. Later farmers has raised various questions which were clarified by Scientist & Agriculture department staff. In this programme, Talseema Sulthana (MAO) and AEO (Ishwarya, Sabiha), ATMA committee chairman Jangapally Ilaiah, Katkur Sarpanch Balaraju and 50 farmers were participated.
