TRVK, Siddipet & ARS, Tornala conducted Farmer-Scientist Interaction meeting at Raipole (V&M), Siddipet District on 07.03.2026. Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar, Scientist and Head, ARS, Tornala has explained about Integrated Farming System (IFS), different varieties of paddy and redgram seed availability at ARS, Tornala. Dr. Ch. Pallavi briefed about the crop diversification and integrated crop management technologies, importance of crop diversification and also stressed more on zero tillage maize and sunflower in rice-fallows; after tillage green gram and black gram in rice-fallows and while bengal gram, green gram, blackgram, groundnut, sunflower, safflower, sesamum as irrigated dry crops. She encouraged the farmers for cultivation of oil seeds and pulses. Paddy cultivation is not profitable under the existing water resources, cultivating various types of id crops instead of paddy in Rabi season can not only cultivate more area but also earn more profit to the farmers. With the water required for cultivation of one acre of paddy, id crops can be cultivated in an area of at least 2 to 8 acres. Crop rotation reduces the number of insects and pests that destroy crops. Sowing id crops reduces the shortage of pulses, oilseeds and vegetables. Later, Dr. A. Ramadevi, Scientist (Ento.), ARS, Tornala created awareness on the pests and disease management in different crops. Smt. J. Swarupa Rani, District Agricultural Officer, Siddipet addressed about the ongoing government schemes like Farm mechanization, NMEO, Natural farming, Urea App, farmer registry etc. Later, various questions were raised by the farmers on wilt in red gram, Stem borer in rice, wilt in Maize, pin worm in Tomato, difference between MOP and bio potash etc. and scientist clarified doubts. Later, Paddy, Groundnut, Maize were visited by the team. In this programme, Sri. Babu Naik, ADA, Sri. Mallareddy, ATMA committee chairman, MAO (R. Naresha) & AEOs (Praveen, Kavitha, Rajitha, Swarnalatha), BTM (Aashlesha) and 60 no. of farmers have attended.
