Rythu Mungitlo Shastravethalu programme was conducted at Tunikikhalsa village, Wargal mandal, Siddipet district on 06.05.25. Dr T Srijaya, Principal Scientist (SSAC) has enlightened the farmers on Rythu Mungitlo Shastravethalu programme and also various activities carried by our university. Programme was initiated with the video message addressed by Prof. Aldas Janaiah garu, Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU and also by other officers. She expressed that farmers are applying excessive urea and it can be reduced through soil test-based fertilizer application. It was also said that soil health can be sustained through adoption of green manure application and crop diversification. In her interaction with farmes she stressed that crop residues should not be burnt as they will cause pollution instead, they should be incorporated. In addition, it was also explained about different micro irrigation techniques through which water can be saved. In their interaction with farmers, they were urged for plantation of trees. Dr A Ramadevi, Scientist (Ento.) explained about integrated pest management techniques for major crops. She suggested that receipt should be taken during purchase of seeds, pesticides or fertilizers and it should be kept safely till crop was harvested. In our interaction with farmers, they were urged for plantation of trees for environmental protection. Sri. D.Ramesh, Horticulture Officer explained about oil palm cultivation and informed about various subsidies from Department of Horticulture. Smt S. Sheshasayana, MAO (Wargal) advised the farmers to sown the seeds after receipt of good rains only. Farmers during their interaction expressed that such season-based programmes need to be conducted and awareness on monkey management is needed. Polytechnic students (2 Nos) from APT, Tornala, 1 Ex-MPP and 61 farmers were also participated in the above programme.
