The District Administration of Rajanna Sircilla District conducted an Orientation Programme on “Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika: 99 Days Action Plan” for the newly elected Sarpanches, Municipal Chairpersons, Mandal-level officers, and District-level officers on 12.03.2026 at the College Auditorium, Babu Jagjivan Ram Agricultural College, Sircilla. The Collector and District Magistrate, Smt. Garima Agarwal, I.A.S, District Superintendent of Police Sri Gite Mahesh Babasaheb I.P.S, and other district officials graced the occasion. The various activities to be undertaken under the 99-day action plan were explained by the concerned district officers. They also requested the newly elected Sarpanches and Municipal Chairpersons to actively participate in the development of the State. In her presidential address, Smt. Garima Agarwal, Collector and District Magistrate, stated that villages play a very important role in the development of the State as well as the Nation. She suggested that the Sarpanches should actively involve themselves in improving sanitation, water facilities, health, and education at the village level. She also expressed her hope that their service and dedication would make them remembered by the people at the village level. During the tea break, the Collector and District Magistrate visited various laboratories and classrooms and interacted with the students. She also interacted with students who were involved in cultural programmes and Rangoli preparation. While addressing the students, she highlighted that farmers face several challenges such as crop diversification issues, monocropping practices, poor post-harvest techniques, weak marketing linkages, and inadequate warehousing facilities. She advised the students to understand the problems faced by farmers and to utilize new technologies to develop practical solutions to these challenges. She also visited the Siri Girls Hostel and inspected the dining facilities available for the students.
