Maize Research Unit (MRU), ARI, Rajendranagar organized an Input Distribution-cum-Awareness Programme on Improved Maize Production Technologies for Scheduled Caste (SC) farmers on 13.02.2026 under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) 2025–26. .Dr. D. Sravani, Scientist (Plant Breeding), MRU, ARI, Hyderabad, briefed the improved Rabi maize production technologies, including recommended hybrids, weed management, nutrient management and water management practices. Dr. Ch. Anusha, Scientist (Entomology), explained integrated pest and disease management strategies in maize, with special emphasis on the management of Fall Armyworm (FAW), Pink Stem Borer, and Post-Flowering Stalk Rot. The importance of timely monitoring and need-based application of recommended insecticides was highlighted. As part of the programme, Chlorantraniliprole (18.5% SC) was distributed to 44 SC farmers for effective Fall Armyworm (FAW), management. Subsequently, scientists and farmers visited maize fields to provide on-site technical guidance. A total of 50 farmers participated in the programme.
