KVK, Palem organized a Training programme on Nutrition Security through Kitchen gardening at Kondareddypally village, Vangoor Mandal, Nagarkurnool District on 15.03.2025. Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem created awareness about the need and importance of Kitchen Garden towards achieving nutritional Security. Explained about the recommended quantity of vegetable intake and role of vegetables to combat non-communicable diseases. Distributed Kitchen Garden kits to the SC farmers under SC sub plan. Dr.A.Shankar, SMS (Horticulture) encouraged the farmers to grow all the required vegetables in their farm or backyard for balanced and diversified nutrition and also become self-sufficient to meet the vegetable requirement of their families. Dr.K.Sridhar, Scientist (Agronomy), RARS, Palem created awareness about integrated crop management practices in Rabi crops like Paddy, Maize and Groundnut. Sri.Anumula Vema Reddy, Ex Deputy Sarpanch, Kondareddypally village explained about the village situation, crops and resources of the farmers. In this training Dr.T.Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem, Dr.A.Shankar, SMS (Horticulture), Dr.K.Sridhar, Scientist (Agronomy), RARS, Palem, Sri. Anumula Vema Reddy, Ex Deputy Sarpanch, Kondareddypally village and 41 farmers were participated.
